Work to create the first 'third generation' (3G)
synthetic pitch in the Borders in Galashiels officially got underway
yesterday.
The 14 week construction programme will see the first full size 3G
pitch and smaller synthetic training pitch be erected at the
Fairydean ground in the town.
The facility is a culmination of the ‘Netherdale - the Next
Generation’ (NTNG) which was set up in January 2010 to investigate
ways of fundraising to create the much-needed facility for the

In both Children's and Youth Awards
Structures, the 12-hour (2 x 6 hours) Coaching in the Game
Certificate Course looks at the knowledge and understanding required
to help young players appreciate concepts such as width, depth and
support within the small-sided game.
This year's Scottish FA/Cameron Gunn
Festival was the biggest and most successful to date with 109 youth
football teams taking part in the event on Sunday, 5 June.
