The
aim of the development squads is to provide a platform for players with
necessary ability and attitude to train on a weekly basis. The players
are selected from Scottish Borders Junior FA Development Leagues and
from Schools. The coaching takes place at Tweedbank Sports Complex on a
weekly basis and is delivered by SFA qualified coaching staff. There are
three squads at 13’s and14’s age groups with around forty youngsters
involved in the programme.
From the
development squad coaching sessions sixteen players are selected for
Borders Regional Squad who play monthly games against opposition from
other regions.

against other areas from the South east region.
