The Scottish FA
Quality Mark is a "Youth Action Plan" initiative which supports
grassroots club development. With 150 clubs and schools already
participating, over 1000 coaches have benefited from coach education and
first aid training to date. Via Quality Mark, the Scottish FA and
partners will work with clubs and schools to broaden youth and community
participation and to enhance player, coach and volunteer development.
Drew Kelly SFA Football Development Officer in the
Scottish Borders said “It is a great achievement for Ancrum Football
Club, in attaining the Scottish FA Quality Mark standard award. Ancrum
FC has worked hard to create a great football club for youngsters in the
area and provide a well structured pathway for players to develop. The
club has an enthusiastic committee, qualified coaches, plenty of
equipment and a development plan in place that will develop the club
even further”.
SFA Regional Manager Michael Sharp, presented the club
with the award and as well as echoing Drew’s comments added “Ancrum are
a great advert for football club’s not just in the Borders but around
Scotland. The club has a strong community backing which should share the
credit for this achievement".
